Raiders fire offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, two coaches after loss to Bengals

The Las Vegas Raiders announced early Monday morning that they had fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello following Sunday’s NFL Week 9 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

All three were in their first season with the team, which fell to 2-7 with their fifth loss in a row.

Former Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Desmond Ridder, signed by the Raiders last month from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, replaced starter Gardner Minshew during Sunday’s second half. Ridder threw a touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter, his first with the team.

Sunday’s game brought longtime Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, now an assistant head coach with the Raiders, back to Cincinnati. Lewis, the winningest head coach in Bengals history, had last faced the Bengals in Cincinnati in 2001, as the defensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens.
