James Van Der Beek’s wife left a sweet comment on the actor’s Instagram post this weekend, revealing his colorectal cancer diagnosis.

“I love you baby,” the 42-year-old said.

Hours before the 47-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” alum made his health update public, Kimberly tagged him in an Instagram Story upload about northern cardinals.

The image called the birds “romantic” and explained that they “mate for life, traveling together, singing before nesting and feeding each other from beak to beak during courtship.”

Alongside the post, Kimberly wrote: “Hi baby @vanderjames.”

She and the “Varsity Blues” star have been married since August 2010 and share six children: Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, 8, Gwendolyn, 6, and Jeremiah, 2.

James included photos of the little ones in his shocking announcement on Sunday, which he had previously “dealt with privately.”

He wrote: ‘I’m in a good place and feeling strong. It was quite an initiation, and I will tell you more when I am ready.”

James noted that he “received treatment and fine-tuned (his) overall health with more focus than ever before.”

He concluded, “We roll with it, treating each surprise as a signpost, pointing us toward a greater destiny than we would have discovered without divine intervention. Please know that my family and I truly appreciate all the love and support.”

The ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alum lives with his family in Texas, where they moved from Los Angeles in 2020.

At the time, James gave his followers a list of reasons why they had “landed” in the state, including that his children couldn’t fly a kite at the park near their Beverly Hills home.

“Sometimes a fuller life begins with an empty house,” he wrote via Instagram before they headed to their new home.

“I leave Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories we made here,” James said. “On to the next big adventure! ❤️😊”
