What happened at Rod Wave’s Sacramento concert? Rapper postpones show due to safety concerns, leaving three people injured

Rod Wave was scheduled to perform at the Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento on October 25, 2024, as part of his Last Lap tour. However, the concert was postponed after a firecracker incident sparked a gun-related security scare and left three people injured.

The Golden 1 Center announced the cancellation of their tour via a general press release on October 25, 2024, stating:

“Through no fault of the artist or promoter, Golden 1 Center has had to postpone the Rod Wave Show, which was rescheduled for tonight, due to staffing issues. The tour will announce the rescheduled date. All tickets will be honored. Guests seeking a refund can do so at the original point of sale.”


Rod Wave postponed his Last round tour

A few days ago, Rod Wave postponed his tour due to scheduling issues. The tour’s postponement was announced via a press statement on October 21, 2024:

“Due to unexpected production issues beyond our control, we are very sorry to announce the postponement of tonight’s sold-out Rod Wave ‘Last Lap’ show in Los Angeles. The event has been rescheduled for Monday, October 28, 2024. Unfortunately, these production issues have affected the entire tour schedule, with Oakland also being postponed…”

The statement continued:

“As you can imagine, Rod Wave was excited to see his fans and eager to perform, and he looks forward to taking the stage on upcoming dates. We greatly appreciate your understanding and continued support.”

The tour supports the singer’s latest studio album, Last roundreleased on October 11, 2024. The Last round album charted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The new album is the singer’s first album since 2023 Nostalgia. The album’s tracklist can be found below:

Rod Wave started his career with the album Ghetto Gospelwhich was released on November 1, 2019 via Alamo and Interscope. The album charted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart and was certified platinum upon release.

The singer released his second studio album, Pray 4 loveon April 3, 2020, via Alamo, Geffen Records and Interscope. The album charted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and achieved platinum certification in the US.

The singer released his third studio album, SoulFlyon March 26, 2021. The album featured guest appearances from Kodak Black, Lil Durk and Polo G. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart.
