Jason Kelce pokes a fan’s phone over homophobic comments

Former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce was involved in an incident with an unruly fan who used homophobic slurs to describe his brother, Kansas City Chiefs running back Travis Kelce.

Jason Kelce was in Pennsylvania on Saturday for the Big Ten showdown between Ohio State and Penn State, appearing on ESPN’s “College GameDay” prior to the Buckeyes’ 20-13 win.

Social media footage showed Kelce carrying a case of beer as he walked through a crowd near Beaver Stadium. Several fans asked Kelce for selfies and fist bumps before one fan started harassing Kelce. The male fan, wearing a Penn State hoodie, unleashed anti-LGTBQ insults towards Kelce’s family as he walked behind him and recorded the seven-time Pro Bowler: “Hey Kelce! How does it feel that your brother is a (expletive) for dating Taylor Swift ?”

In response, Kelce turned around, grabbed the phone from the fan and stuck it into the ground before picking up the phone and continuing on. Another video shared on social media showed the unruly fan chasing Kelce and asking for his cell phone — “give me my phone” — before Kelce replied, “Who is the (expletive) now?”

It’s not clear what happened next, but Kelce may discuss the altercation on his podcast “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Travis Kelce.

Earlier in the day, Kelce competed in Pat McAfee’s $250,000 kicking contest on “College Gameday.” Kelce got a lame remark from McAfee for bashing kickers earlier – “I didn’t say I hate kickers. There are just other things I appreciate more about the game,” Kelce joked – and ultimately had to put his money where his mouth was.

It turns out that pedaling is actually difficult. Kelce threw both of his 33-yard attempts in his Timberland boots: “I’m bad at kicking.”

During the kick attempts, McAfee informed Kelce that he is “going to your future sister-in-law’s concert in Indianapolis tomorrow night. I feel 22.” Kelce exclaimed, “Are you going? Get ready, brother.”
