Prediction and betting platform Polymarket has paid US-based social media influencers to promote election betting on the site – even though no one in the country is allowed to use the tool to place bets, including during Tuesday’s presidential race.

In September, Armand Saramout, Polymarket’s senior director of growth, sought sponsorship deals with U.S. influencers, according to outreach reports from Bloomberg News.
