Megyn Kelly supports Trump and calls him ‘protector of women’

Midway through former President Donald Trump’s speech in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Monday, Megyn Kelly took the headline stage to explain why she supports Trump.

“He will be a protector of women. And that’s why I’m voting for him,” Kelly said, suggesting the former president was previously mocked for making a similar statement.

The conservative media personality, who previously hosted Fox News, has had a sometimes contentious relationship with the former president over the language he uses to describe women. During the first debate of the 2016 campaign, Kelly, as moderator, had asked Trump about statements he had made about women, including using some derogatory names.

Eight years later, Kelly took the stage in Pennsylvania on Monday to help Trump deliver what would be his final message before Election Day. Kelly suggested Monday that she supports Trump because he takes care of the common man.

“He will look after our boys, our forgotten boys and our forgotten men. Guys like you,” she said, adding, “Who maybe have a beer after work and don’t want to be judged by people like Oprah and Beyonce. which will never have to face the consequences of its disastrous economic policies.”

At one point, Kelly pointed out that she disagreed with the “left’s version of masculinity,” citing ads in support of Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign that urged women to vote for Harris without their knowledge husbands.

“You see that ad they made about Trump voters trying to encourage women to lie to their husbands so they can vote for her instead of Trump,” Kelly said. “That’s their version of what marriage looks like: an overbearing husband bullying his wife by saying she voted one way, instead of an honest, open relationship.”

She added, “Oh wait, I’m talking about Kamala and Doug,” referring to the vice president’s husband, Doug Emhoff. “I don’t like their version of toxic masculinity or new masculinity. I prefer the old version,” Kelly said, referring to Trump.

“I prefer a president who understands how to be strong and how to fight. I hope you all do what I did last week. Vote for Trump and get ten friends to vote for Trump.’
