Bill Maher reluctantly advocates for Kamala Harris

Bill Maher personally addressed undecided voters on Friday evening and gave them one clear reason why they should give their vote to Kamala Harris.

In a challenging monologue about HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maherthe host talked about everything from the economy, SpaceX and Christmas.

But ultimately, Maher implored undecided voters to choose Democrats next week to avoid “the rule of a mad king.”

“Do I love everything about Kamala? No, who told you you can love anything? Do I wish she came up with a better reason to run for president than “I’m not Trump”? Yes, it would have been very helpful. But let’s not forget: I’m not Trump, that’s still a very good reason,” he said at the end of his monologue.

In the preamble preceding this statement, Maher defended the Democrats’ record on the economy, criticized the “woke mind virus” and compared undecided voters to Christmas Eve shoppers.

Maher also warned that America is now a land of “two tribes united by a history, but perhaps no future.”

“I stand by my other prediction that Harris will win, but I can’t say I’m not nervous because the election is in the hands of a small group of undecided voters, those curious bisexuals from the political world. ”, he started.

“I call them the Christmas Eve buyers of politics. They know the big day is coming, but they can’t do anything about it until the last minute. My dad was that guy at Christmas, he did all his Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve, in the evening, an hour before the store closed, he went to a single department store with no idea what he was going to get. But that’s why a department store is great. Oh, look, toys!”

Maher’s light-hearted metaphor for undecided voters quickly turned more serious as he aligned their feelings about a possible Harris administration.

“Look, you obviously don’t like Trump, otherwise you would already be in that camp, but you’re still torn, and I’m the guy who keeps saying, I understand why,” he said.

“You wanted more assurance that the Democrat does not agree with every aggressively anti-common sense idea that comes from the woke mind virus – and indeed he does. If she loses, that will be the main reason.”

But Maher also had positive things to say about the Biden administration, which will end very soon as the upcoming election hangs in the balance.

“Part of that mind virus is ‘progressophobia,’ Steven Pinker’s term for the liberal fear of ever admitting that things are actually good. As the economist puts it: About today’s America, an economy with an unemployment rate of 4 percent and a GDP per person of $85,000 doesn’t need to be made great again, it’s great.”

“The economy is the Christmas Eve voter’s other big problem, and they think it’s terrible, when in reality it’s bigger and better than ever.”

He then admonished Democrats for not sharing that message with voters as he listed several numbers that have fallen, such as employment and inflation in recent years since the pandemic.

“If Trump were president with this economy, we would have the greatest 24/7 economy ever in the history of the world, maybe the universe. A lot of people say it, but Trump is not president now.”

Showing a graph showing inflation falling over the past two years, Maher said: “Inflation peaked here in 2022 and has since fallen like a rock to 2.4 percent. Biden has tamed it without causing a recession, which is like catching a SpaceX rocket with your butt.”

“Undecided, you should vote for Harris because of the economy, but undecided people don’t get that message because Democrats can’t ever let the words ‘things aren’t that bad’ come out of their mouths for fear that someone might accuse them of something. I don’t care enough about people who are having a hard time.”
