TSLA shares rise 5% amid Model 3 battery upgrade buzz

Shares of Tesla (TSLA, Financial) had a notable rise, rising 5% with shares trading at $254.97 per share. Trading volume reached 47.08 million shares with a turnover rate of 1.47% and a volatility of 3.59%. Tesla’s latest financial report reveals quarterly revenue of $25.182 billion and net income of $2.167 billion, resulting in earnings per share of $0.68 and gross profit of $4.997 billion. The price-earnings ratio is 69.84.

In terms of analyst ratings, 41% of the 58 institutions offering ratings recommend buying Tesla shares, 36% recommend holding shares, and 23% recommend selling. The auto manufacturing sector, which includes Tesla, saw an overall increase of 2.37%. In particular, related stocks such as XPeng, Canoo and Thunder Power Holdings showed significant gains, while Mullen Automotive, Faraday Future and Canoo were very active with turnover rates of 20.01%, 14.17% and 10.80% respectively. Tesla, a vertically integrated electric vehicle manufacturer and autonomous driving software developer, offers a range of vehicles including luxury sedans, midsize sedans, crossover SUVs, light trucks and semis. The recent price increase is related to news about the battery upgrade of the Tesla Model 3. According to a report from Zhongtai Securities, Tesla plans to introduce a new generation of battery packs manufactured by CATL in 2025, with the aim of one within the next into a core product for up to two years. Meanwhile, Samsung SDI’s third-quarter earnings showed a 46% sequential decline and a 72% year-on-year decline in operating profit, impacted by a slowdown in the small battery market.
