The Pogues of Outdoor benches I have one more adventure to go.

Netflix and the show’s creators have announced that the show has been renewed for a fifth and final season. The news comes a few days before the second half of season four debuts on the streamer; the final five episodes will air on November 7.

“In the summer of 2017, we came across a photo of teenagers on a beach at dusk during a power outage. That photo sparked the idea for a story about four best friends who just want to have fun. From the beginning, we envisioned a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting and friendship,” series creators Shannon Burke, Josh Pate and Jonas Pate wrote in a letter addressed to “all Pogues” on Monday .

“At the time, seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we could truly tell the entire story of five seasons, but here we are, at the end of our fourth season, still chipping away,” the letter continues. “…Now, it is with some sadness, but also excitement, that we leave season four behind and move on to season five, where we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we envisioned and planned years ago. Season five will be our final season, and we believe it will be our best yet.”

Writing on the final season has begun, but production and premiere dates have yet to be determined.

At an event celebrating the show last weekend in Los Angeles, star Chase Stokes praised the bond the cast has formed over five years and four seasons: “There’s a level of trust you have with the people around you, to knowing that they will show up and do their job too,” he shared The Hollywood Reporter. “It has been that way for the past five years and it has never changed.”

Outdoor benches has been a consistent hit for Netflix across its four seasons so far. The first half of season four, which premiered on October 10, debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s English-language TV charts and remained in the top 10 for the next two weeks. According to Nielsen’s year-end rankings, seasons two and three were among the most-watched original streaming series of 2021 and 2023 in the United States.
