Police fatally shoot a man after an armed standoff at a New Hampshire bed and breakfast, AG says

Police shot and killed a man after an hours-long armed standoff at a New Hampshire bed and breakfast, officials announced early Thursday morning.

According to New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella, the fatal shooting occurred at the Federal House Inn along Route 25 in Plymouth.

The Federal House Inn is centrally located between the Lakes and White Mountains regions of the Granite State, near Plymouth Municipal Airport.

The victim’s name has not yet been released and an autopsy will be scheduled by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Officers responding to a report of a disturbance at the inn Wednesday afternoon found an armed man barricaded inside. According to Formella, the man was shot by police at some point during the lengthy standoff.

“At this time there are no known physical injuries to law enforcement there and there is no known threat to the public,” Formella said just after 3 a.m. incident is being withheld pending the conclusion of a formal interview.”

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still being actively investigated.
