No Man’s Sky now runs at 8K on the PS5 Pro

It’s been a super cool week discovering how games are using Sony’s new PSSR technology on the PS5 Pro, but one of the most fascinating was how Hello Games used the technology for No Man’s Sky.

As confirmed by the team, the game now runs at 4K/60FPS and if you have an 8K display, you can also run the game at 8K/30FPS. As far as I know, this is the second game that can use 8K on the PS5 (the first was F1 2024).

That’s not the only thing that’s improved, though: improved lighting, ultra-quality reflections, higher quality ambient occlusion across the board, and these updates carry over to PlayStation VR2.

We’ve also just published our PS5 Pro Review. In it we said: “The PS5 Pro offers meaningful visual improvements across the board. In most cases that means 4K resolution at a buttery smooth 60 FPS, but thanks to PSSR this feels like just the start of what’s possible. While this may not be for everyone in this price range, those who do enjoy themselves will not be disappointed”
