Garth Brooks’ legal team has filed a ‘motion’ regarding the sexual assault case against the country icon.

Legal expert Tre Lovell told the publication that the 62-year-old singer’s “advantages in a lawsuit in federal court are a number of things.”

“It’s usually easier to seal files, and you usually get a quicker trial date. Judges are also more likely to dismiss a case,” Lovell added.

Brooks’ latest move coincides with recent allegations of rape against a makeup artist named Jane Roe, who previously worked for his wife, according to a claim filed in a California state court on October 3, 2024.

The accuser worked for the country singer and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, prior to and during the time frame she alleges occurred, adding that her financial need made her an easy target for Brooks.

Brooks’ accuser alleged that the singer raped and sexually assaulted her on several occasions in 2019.

However, Brooks dismissed the claims hours later, labeling them a “hush money” shakedown.
