Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul: Date, rules and UK times, including Taylor vs. Serrano undercard

Tyson and Paul’s records are worlds, and years, apart.

Tyson made his professional debut in 1985, twelve years before Paul was born.

Over a twenty-year career, Tyson won 50 fights, losing only six with 44 knockouts.

At the age of 20, he is the youngest heavyweight champion ever to achieve the feat. He is a two-time heavyweight champion and reigned as undisputed champion between 1987 and 1990, defeating Frank Bruno, Michael Spinks and Larry Holmes.

Tyson retired in 2005 after back-to-back defeats, but has since made a number of exhibition fights, including against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

However, Paul is the favorite for the match for several reasons.

At 27, he has youth firmly on his side, even though there is a big gap in experience. Paul has built a major career in the ring as one of the world’s most famous YouTubers.

He jumped on the YouTuber boxing trend in 2018 before having his first professional fight in 2020. Paul has fought a lot of recognizable names, but many of them are MMA fighters new to boxing.

Wins over former UFC fighters Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva were a big spectacle. His only loss was to boxer and Love Island star Tommy Fury in 2023.

Paul’s most recent win was over former UFC fighter and bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry in July.

Paul has never fought more than eight rounds, with seven stoppages under his belt.

For comparison, Paul has boxed 52 rounds, while Tyson has fought 215 rounds.
