The city of Reno is reporting a fire at Sierra Vista Park on Beaumont Parkway that occurred early Tuesday morning.

According to a city memo, the fire involved an open community barbecue/meeting building and started just after 1:30 am.

The fire completely engulfed the building, but firefighters were able to stop the fire before it spread to other buildings or vegetation.

No witnesses or suspects were found at the scene and there were no surveillance cameras in the area.

Initial damage estimates are $163,000 to the building and another $6,000 to four aluminum picnic tables inside at the time of the fire, totaling $169,000.
