Brianna LaPaglia says Zach Bryan got a tattoo of her before they started dating

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia has shared new details about what happened in the early days of her and ex Zach Bryan’s relationship.

In a new episode of the BFFs podcast released on November 7, the 25-year-old podcast host and internet personality revealed that the Grammy winner — who she claims was emotionally abusive — got a tattoo dedicated to her just a few days after they started dating getting a tattoo. to get to know each other during a road trip from Philadelphia to Oklahoma.

“After that weekend we spent three days together, I think two or three days later he got me tattooed on his arm,” she said, claiming Bryan immediately started ‘love bombing’ her.

Her BFF co-host Josh Richards pointed out that LaPaglia and Bryan hadn’t started dating when this happened, to which she replied, “No.”

According to WebMD, “Love bombing is an emotional manipulation technique that involves giving someone excessive compliments, attention, or affection in order to ultimately control them.” LaPaglia said she experienced this for four months before Bryan “switched over.”

LaPaglia also said she needs to remove her own ink that references one of Bryan’s songs. In an August 2023 TikTok video, she showed off a tattoo that read “How lucky we are,” which is a lyric in his song “28.”

Looking back, LaPaglia said she should have seen the red flags in their relationship.

However, she claims, “He manipulated the ‘f— out of me.” I honestly thought he was such a great guy because he was for the first four months of our relationship. That’s the one he showed me. I fell in love with a person who doesn’t exist.”

Elsewhere in the interview, LaPaglia claimed that Bryan asked her to sign a nondisclosure agreement, offering her $12 million and an apartment in New York to “not talk about the relationship.”

Representatives for LaPaglia and Bryan did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Bryan and LaPaglia met at the ACM Awards in May 2023. A month later, he messaged her after she attended and praised his concert in New York City. They started dating in July 2023.

After over a year they called it quits. Bryan shared on Instagram that they went their separate ways in October 2024.

On his Instagram Stories, Bryan wrote that the couple had split, although he continued to “respect and love her with every ounce of my heart.”

Shortly after, LaPaglia appeared to respond to his message with a post on her own Instagram Stories, saying she felt “really blindsided.”

“I’m going to be off social media for a while and try to heal privately. When I’m ready, I’ll be back and ready to talk,” she wrote in her post. “I love you guys so much, thank you for all your kind words. Remember that you are so loved and everything will always work out.”
