Former Golden Knight Chandler Stephenson will play his first game against Vegas since signing with the Kraken

Former Vegas Golden Knights center Chandler Stephenson will play his first game against his old team tonight as Vegas travels to take on the Seattle Kraken.

The 30-year-old played five seasons with the Golden Knights, recording 327 games, 75 goals, 162 assists and 237 points. Stephenson was part of the Washington Capitals team that defeated the Golden Knights in the finals and was also part of the Golden Knights’ 2023 Stanley Cup team.

Through fourteen games with the Kraken, Stephenson has scored just one goal and nine points, struggling to make an impact in a 5-on-5 situation.

During his tenure with the Golden Knights, Stephenson was a dynamic playmaker who excelled in all facets of the game. He was just as dangerous on the penalty kill as he was at even strength or on the power play. He continued his efforts to become a leader with the Golden Knights and began the next chapter of his life with the Kraken as a seasoned veteran with great knowledge of what it takes to win a Stanley Cup.

In what can still be considered the young season, things haven’t started the way he and the Kraken had hoped, but if Stephenson finds his stride and gets going, his confidence will continue to grow and he can impact the game like Golden Knights . fans know he can do it.

Without the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native, the Golden Knights’ penalty kill only kills 75% of their chances, ranking them 24th in the NHL.

Tonight’s match may feel like a full-circle moment for Stephenson, but he knows the two points are crucial as the Kraken have lost four in a row.
