The best Veterans Day deals and discounts, according to Veterans

Veterans Day is just around the corner, and for many Americans that means it’s time to shop (and eat) ’til you drop. Cashing in on the savings and freebies on everything from shopping to restaurants has become a long-awaited Veterans Day tradition for many veterans and service members, and this year is no different.

At Military.com, we carefully curate and fact-check hundreds of Veterans Day discounts to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate. But with so many available, it’s impossible to take advantage of every Veteran’s Day offer. That’s why we asked our readers to share their favorite Veterans Day discount – and they did. From store promotions to free food, you’ve spilled your savings secrets to us.

These are the best Veterans Day deals and discounts according to veterans:

Texas Roadhouse

Our readers love celebrating Veterans Day with Texas Roadhouse! From their famous bread and honey butter basket to hand-cut steaks, this eatery was our respondents’ top pick. No wonder: Texas Roadhouse has a phenomenal Veterans Day deal. All current, active and veteran members of the military are invited to enjoy a free entrée, two sides and soft drinks, sweet tea, iced tea or coffee during lunch on Veterans Day.

If you’re not near a Texas Roadhouse, these other similar restaurants are also offering Veterans Day deals:

  • Outback Steakhouse: Enjoy a free Bloomin’ Onion and drink with the purchase of an entree. (Can’t make it to the Outback on Veterans Day? They have a 10% military discount every day.)
  • Logan’s Roadhouse: Ask about the Veterans Day menu and choose a free entree at lunch on November 11. Logan’s Roadhouse often provides free meals to active duty military and veterans on Memorial Day and the 4th of July.
  • Sizzler: Choose a free lunch dish with shrimp, chicken or steak on Veterans Day

From Applebee’s

If you’re in the mood for some great food in the area, Applebee’s has a whole Veteran’s Day deal for you. On November 11, choose a free lunch or dinner from a select menu with seven of the most popular entrees. You’ll also receive a $5 bounce back card, valid for three weeks after the holidays at all participating locations.

No Applebee’s nearby? Try one of these similar restaurants for a fantastic Veterans Day deal:

  • Ruby Tuesday: Enjoy a free Garden Bar, Smashburger or Cheeseburger appetizer anytime during business hours on November 11.
  • Chili’s: Choose a free entree from a select menu on Veterans Day.
  • Golden Corral: Starting at 5 p.m. on Veterans Day, participating locations will host a Military Appreciation Night, including free admission.

Home Depot

Every day is Veterans Day at Home Depot. While Home Depot doesn’t technically offer an exclusive Veterans Day discount, they do have a 10% military discount year-round. Our readers love this deal, perhaps because it’s also available to military spouses and veteran spouses. If you have access to an Army & Airforce Exchange or Navy Exchange, you can also take advantage of special pricing on Home Depot goods year-round.

Not near a Home Depot? Maybe you have a Lowe’s nearby. Like Home Depot, Lowe’s doesn’t offer a Veterans Day deal, but it does offer a 10% military discount on select items year-round.

Starbucks

We know, we know: Starbucks hate the military, according to that 1993 chain email that still surfaces sporadically on social media. We’ve all seen it. Of course, Starbucks doesn’t hate the military, as evidenced by their recruiting initiatives, partnerships, and of course, the Veterans Day promotion. Our readers love the coffee giant’s offer of a free large hot coffee or iced coffee to current and veteran military personnel and their spouses.

If Starbucks isn’t an option for you this Veterans Day, try these coffee chains:

  • Dunkin’: If you participate in Dunkin’, make sure you grab your free donut on Veterans Day.
  • Einstein Bros. Bagels: On November 11, order a free hot or iced coffee of any size with your purchase.
  • Tim Hortons: Show your military ID on November 11 and receive a free donut.

Free car wash

Our readers love free car wash deals on Veterans Day. (After all, it’s always nice when someone else checks a to-do item off your list!) It’s a good thing that there are so many regional chains with a free car wash service on November 11:

  • Grace For Vets: Start here for a detailed list of offers. This organization is a coalition of car wash companies from around the world that donate free car washes to people associated with the military.
  • Autobell: This southeastern chain is offering a free Ride-Thru Exterior car wash for veterans on Veterans Day. Do you want to upgrade? You can receive an equivalent credit for another car wash service.
  • Russell Speeder’s Car Wash: Get a free car wash during Veterans Day weekend at any location.

This is just a sample of the Veterans Day discounts available to you this year. That’s why we maintain an up-to-date catalog of free offers and discounts, so you can easily search through the offers and choose the ones that appeal to you.

Do you have a favorite Veterans Day deal that our survey respondents missed? Share it with us and we might add it to this article so other veterans and service members can benefit from the promotion too.
