NFL injury tracker Week 10: Trevor Lawrence questionable, Christian McCaffrey expected to return, CeeDee Lamb ‘going to be right’

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence looks like he will be ruled out for the team’s game on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Head coach Doug Pederson said Lawrence “had a tendency not to play.” If that’s the case, Mac Jones would get the start.

We don’t know much about how Lawrence injured his shoulder, or even what’s wrong with it. He was all over the place against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, going 16 of 31 for 169 yards and two interceptions. He had two touchdowns, but both were rushing TDs, so neither involved his throwing shoulder significantly.

The Jaguars officially labeled Lawrence “questionable” in the injury report released Friday. When asked about his QB on Wednesday, Pederson said Lawrence was “sore” and would be limited in practice.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Lawrence is reportedly considering his treatment options for his shoulder and surgery is on the table. Rapoport said on X that while no surgery is planned right now, this is one of the options Lawrence is considering.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Christian McCaffrey is “good to go” for Sunday. McCaffrey is expected to make his season debut this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after what Shanahan called a “great” performance in practice the past two days.

The 49ers have him listed as “questionable” for Sunday, but Shanahan has repeatedly said McCaffrey should be ready to play if all goes well.

McCaffrey has been out all season due to Achilles tendonitis and a tight fibula. The problems first came when he picked up a late scratch in week 1. He was quickly placed on injured reserve, with a hazy timetable for returning to the field.

He was treated by a specialist in Germany in September and only returned to practice this week. This week he is listed as a limited participant in the training.

With McCaffrey out, the 4-4 Niners have struggled to repeat their success from last season due to the running back’s absence as well as other factors. Jordan Mason has handled the bulk of the running duties, with 685 rushing yards and three touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry (McCaffrey averaged 5.4 yards last season).

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is expected to be placed on injured reserve with a concussion, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Olave suffered a head injury after an illegal blindside hit in Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. He was carted off the field and hospitalized for further evaluation, but was ultimately released the same day.

Due to placement on IR, Olave will be out for at least four games. But Olave is reportedly seeking expert advice on his concussion from specialists, meaning he could be out for longer.

CeeDee Lamb suffered a broken shoulder following the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Atlanta Falcons last week. He’s played out the game and has been limited in practice, but he’s made enough progress and he’s confident he’ll be on the field against the Eagles.

“I feel like I’ve made a big step in the last two or three days,” Lamb said. “But I’m fine, I was running today, I was proven right.”

Lamb, who doesn’t plan to wear any kind of brace, will have a new quarterback thrown his way this week. With Dak Prescott out with a hamstring injury, Cooper Rush will take over starting duties as the Cowboys look to snap a four-game losing streak.

“We’ve been connecting, we’ve been doing a lot of reps outside of practice, just talking, communicating and getting on the same page,” Lamb said. “I feel like that’s very important with the situation coming up and I’m happy for him. We know what Coop can do, the confidence is still there.”

The Tennessee Titans will have quarterback Will Levis back under center after being out since October 13 with a right shoulder injury.

“I am extremely competitive and I want to be there every week,” Levis said this week. “It sucks when you’re there and you can’t play. So hopefully I can go this week. I really enjoyed it and I’m excited to get out there and lead our team.”

Levis was dealing with a grade two AC sprain in his right shoulder and has been dealing with it from week to week. Mason Rudolph has started Tennessee’s past three games, with the Titans going 1-2 over that stretch.
