  • Brighton have conceded more goals in the Premier League against Manchester City than against any other opponent (40), and have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their fourteen games.

  • Manchester City have taken 37 points from the 42 available against Brighton in the Premier League (W12 D1 L1), with the only points lost coming at the Amex Stadium (2-3 in May 2021, 1-1 in May 2023).

  • Brighton have dropped ten points this season after gaining positions in the Premier League, just four fewer than in the entire 2023/2024 season. Indeed, both of the Seagulls’ defeats this season have come after they took the lead (2-4 against Chelsea, 1-2 against Liverpool).

  • Brighton are unbeaten in their five home Premier League games (W2 D3) so far this season – only in 1982-83 have they had a longer run without a home defeat from the start of a top-flight season (7).

  • Manchester City’s unbeaten run of 32 games in the Premier League came to an end in Bournemouth last time. Only in October 2023, December 2018 and December 2016 did they lose consecutive league games under Pep Guardiola.

  • Manchester City have conceded the first goal in five of their ten Premier League games so far this season – the first time they have done so in as many as half of their first ten games in a season since 2006-07 ( also five).

  • Only Leicester City (55%) have converted a greater share of their big chances in the Premier League this season than Brighton (46% – 12/26).

  • 73% of Man City’s goals conceded in the Premier League this season have come in the first half of matches (8/11), the highest proportion in the division this season. Four of those came in the first fifteen minutes; only Ipswich and West Ham (5) conceded more, while this is the highest percentage for all teams (36%).

  • Brighton’s Danny Welbeck has scored (3) or assisted (1) in each of his last four Premier League games. He has never before been involved in a goal in five consecutive games in the competition.

  • Man City’s Phil Foden has scored more Premier League goals against Brighton than against any other opponent. He scored eight goals in just seven games against the Seagulls. However, Foden has not scored in any of his seven Premier League games this season. The last time he went a longer stretch of games without a league goal between May 2019 and March 2020 (15).
