“The time (I put in) is pretty much the same,” he said before his game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that handed him the only loss on his record. “The process from week to week is pretty much the same. I mean, in practice you obviously get more reps and do more things, but it’s exciting. This is why you work.

“This is why you get ready to go and get started. … The more games you play, the more reps you collect, put in your library and make use of. So I’m confident in that. I’m Been around here for a while, and I’ve played with a lot of these guys before, which is huge when you’re running around with live bullets.

“It’s important to trust those guys and get there sooner.”

One of those guys is CeeDee Lamb and for his part, the confidence in Rush is echoed by others.

The two have also continued to put in work after work despite the All-Pro receiver battling a sprained AC joint in his shoulder suffered during the Week 9 battle in Atlanta against the Falcons.

“Obviously we’ve been in contact,” Lamb said. “We did a lot of reps outside of practice – just talking, communicating and getting on the same page. I think that’s very important with the situation at hand. I’m happy for him.

“We know what Coop can do. The confidence is still there. Just stand tall and deliver.”

Adding to the challenge of what Rush will try to accomplish in the coming weeks is the fact that things in 2024 won’t be what they were when he took the reins in 2022, and that includes the fact that the Cowboys are currently a have 3-5. record and no home wins and enter their fourth game at home against the powerful Eagles next Sunday.

So to put it plainly, while Rush was tasked with keeping the 2022 season on track, he is now tasked with helping get the 2024 season on track. back on the right track, and before the downward spiral becomes a crash.

However, as noted above, his approach will remain the same.

Because, again, even keel.

“Yeah, I mean, we’re just trying to beat Philly,” he said. “I mean, this is our approach this week. You have to take them one by one. It’s a cliché, but it works. And so that’s kind of the goal.

“You really take it practice by practice, game by game and we’ll see what happens.”
