Sabrina Carpenter breaks down in tears on tour bus over Grammy nominations

Sabrina Carpenter cried tears of joy after being nominated for six Grammy Awards on Friday morning.

The ‘Espresso’ hitmaker shared a video via Instagram on Friday of herself watching the live 2025 Grammy Awards nomination announcement from her tour bus with some friends.

Everyone screamed with excitement after it was announced that Carpenter had been nominated for best pop solo performance, best new artist, song of the year and record of the year.

In a second video, she broke down in tears after her sixth studio album, “Short n’ Sweet,” was nominated for album of the year alongside Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” and Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department.” She is also nominated for best pop vocal album.

“This is the first year I watched the live stream where I heard my name!” Timmerman, 25, endorsed the carousel.

“I’d be lying if I said I haven’t dreamed of this day my whole life, so I’m filled with gratitude. Thank you @recordingacademy :)).”

Carpenter and fellow pop sensation Chappell Roan are the only artists nominated in the categories of super-competitive record of the year, best new artist, album of the year and song of the year.

While the “Please, Please, Please” singer is thrilled to be nominated for her first Grammy trophies, she joked about her best new stage name since she’s been in the music industry for a decade.

Carpenter released her debut album ‘Eyes Wide Open’ in 2015 and has since released numerous other albums.

“I’m the best old artist…I’ve been here,” she joked after the nod was announced.

However, Carpenter’s fame has skyrocketed in recent years with the release of her album ‘Emails I Can’t Send’ in 2022.

The deluxe version of the record was released in 2023 and featured her first Billboard Hot 100 hit, ‘Feather’.

This year, she achieved her first No. 1 album with “Short n’ Sweet,” joining close friends Swift and Ariana Grande as the only women to have at least three songs in the Top 5 of the Hot 100 simultaneously.

Over the summer, Carpenter said that despite the several albums and two EPs she previously released, “Short n’ Sweet” feels like her second album.

“It’s my second ‘big girl’ album,” she told Variety in August. “In terms of having full creative control and being a full-fledged adult, I would consider this a second album.”

Following her nominations, Carpenter’s friend, actor Barry Keoghan, called her “absolutely brilliant.”

He said on SiriusXM on Friday: “I don’t know anyone who works that hard. I am in awe when I see her at work.”
