Politicians and cricket association congratulate the Green Shirts on the victory against Australia – Pakistan

Pakistan defeated Australia with an eight-wicket win, earning their first ODI series win in Australia after 22 years.

The cricket fraternity and politicians on Sunday congratulated the Pakistan men’s side for their victory over Australia.

Pakistan defeated Australia with an eight-wicket win on Sunday, earning their first victory in the men’s One-Day International (ODI) series in Australia after 22 years.

After bowling out the woeful world champions for a miserly 140 at Perth Stadium, Mohammad Rizwan’s team achieved their target with ease in the 27th over.

The impressive performance, aided by quality bowling from Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, secured Australia’s first ODI series win since 2002.

The cricket board reported the win in a post on X.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the team and said, “by beating a strong team like Australia on home turf, the players have made the nation proud.”

Politicians from across the spectrum congratulated the team on the victory.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the team on the win in a message on X.

“After 22 years, Pakistan has defeated Australia on its own soil, and that too convincingly!” he wrote.

Former Human Rights Minister Shireen Mizari also congratulated the team on an “excellent series win against Australia in Australia”.

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori in a congratulatory post said, “This victory has made the entire nation, especially the cricket fans, happy.”

Besides politicians, former cricketers also praised the Green Shirts for their achievements.

Ex-cricketer Shahid Afridi congratulated the team in a post on X.

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood called the win a “good show of character, coming back from a game to win the series.”

England cricketer Kevin Pietersen said: “Put politics aside and let cricket do the talking!”

Former cricketer Wasim Akram termed the win against the World ODI Champions in a series as a big achievement.

He added: “Having witnessed and commented on this series, I feel honoured.”

Cricketer Shadab Khan also celebrated the team’s victory in a post.

Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers also reported on Pakistan’s win in Australia.

Cricket presenter Zainab Abbas also reported the victory. She said it was “nice to see the Pak boys win with fast pace bowling”.
