Staff predictions ahead of the Washington Commanders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Washington Commanders have been a pleasant surprise in the league this season, moving to 7-2 as we enter Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the shoulders of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Their record is good enough to maintain first place in the NFC East, but they will continue to try to pick up wins to maintain their slim lead over the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, they will have a tough matchup this weekend as the Pittsburgh Steelers enter the DMV area after finding an offense that implements Russell Wilson as the team’s starting quarterback while resting their laurels on the defensive end of the ball.

Both teams look to enter the game relatively healthy, with the only big name left out as Commanders Brian Robinson Jr. walk back. The Commanders have a 43-33-3 record against the Steelers all-time with the last game going to the Commanders in 2020. Here’s how our staff sees this situation playing out between the Washington Commanders and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This Commanders game is the most excited I’ve seen since the Ravens game earlier this season. Let’s hope this one turns out better than that. As Brian Robinson Jr. has a chance, I think Washington can pull off a good touchdown win. If he can’t or is limited by his hamstring injury, then it’s much closer and a few plays will determine the outcome. If I’m on the fence, I’m going to go to Commanders, so that’s where I’m going here.

2024 season prediction record: 7-2

Commanders 27, Steelers 24

This game will be the story of two Dark Horse Super Bowl contenders. The Commanders will face a well-rounded attack, but their ability to control the ball will help them control the game and ultimately emerge victorious.

2024 season prediction record: 5-3

**Exclusive Panthers game**

Commanders 28, Steelers 21

The Commanders face a tough test with the Steelers’ defense. A win would give the Commanders another stamp of approval for how well they have played over the course of the season. Jayden Daniels will try to lead his team to victory, but the Steelers won’t make it easy.

2024 season prediction record: 6-3

Steelers 26, Commanders 24

The Commanders have been one of the most surprising teams in the league this season. Yes, the team is good, but I don’t think anyone has gotten them to the level we’ve seen this season so quickly. Now Washington will face another tough test when they play the Pittsburgh Steelers, who find their offense with Russell Wilson under center. This game should tell you how legit the Commanders are. But now that this one is at home, I can see them doing just enough against a stout defense to get the win.

2024 season prediction record: 5-3

**Excludes Ravens forecast due to Hurricane Milton**

Commanders 24, Steelers 21
