Titans at Chargers: How to watch, odds, expert picks with Justin Herbert in top form

The playoffs continue for the Los Angeles Chargers when they host the Tennessee Titans. A surging Justin Herbert and a ferocious top-10 defense lead Los Angeles – winners of three of their last four games. Struggling to close out games, the Titans took a positive step in Week 9 with an overtime win over the Patriots. The Chargers are favored by a home touchdown in this AFC matchup.

Herbert looks great after an early adjustment period to new coach Jim Harbaugh’s game plan. Through the first four outings, Herbert averaged just 144 passing yards per game. Opening the playbook the last four games, he nearly doubled his passing yards to 286 per game.

Despite taking more shots down the field, Herbert maintains an impressive 10-to-1 touchdown to interception ratio, making up for a struggling Los Angeles running game. Leader JK Dobbins regained his strong early-season form in the Week 9 win over Cleveland, giving the Chargers a much-needed boost from the backfield.

A well-rounded offense is required to move the ball in Tennessee’s No. 1 defense. The Titans allow the fewest passing yards per game and present a tough test for Herbert.

An ineffective offense is keeping Tennessee from moving up. The Titans have only scored more than 17 points in a game twice all season. That’s problematic against a Los Angeles defense that ranks No. 1 in scoring and allows just 12.6 points per game.

Will Levis is back as the starting quarterback. Mason Rudolph was coming off a win against New England, but will step aside after three straight starts as Levis returns from injury. Both quarterbacks are turnover risks, with Levis having bigger problems taking sacks.

Tennessee’s 12th-ranked running game, behind running back Tony Pollard, has been a reliable bright spot in recent weeks and helped overcome shaky quarterback play.
