Suns lose to Kings in extra time for the first home loss of the season

The Phoenix Suns couldn’t stay ahead of the Sacramento Kings in overtime on Sunday, falling 127-118.

It came after the Kings wrapped up a chance to win against Phoenix, with an inbounds foul allowing Devin Booker to tie the game on a free throw before the Suns kept possession with 3.9 seconds left.

Booker could have gotten a good look at a three-pointer from the right corner at the buzzer to win the game in regulation, but it went off.

Bradley Beal scored the first points of the extra period, but DeMar DeRozan, who finished second in last year’s Clutch Player of the Year voting, scored eight straight points to give Sacramento a commanding lead.

Beal, who went down earlier in the period before staying in the game, had a four-point game, but Sacramento guard De’Aaron Fox had four straight buckets to stay ahead of Phoenix.

The game marked the end of Phoenix’s seven-game win streak and the end of the Suns’ perfect record at home, which is now 5–1.

The Suns next play their first game of the Emirates NBA Cup, tipping off against the Jazz in Utah on Tuesday at 7:00 PM MST.
