Mt. Bachelor opens for the winter season on Friday, for pass holders only – the earliest start in more than a quarter century

The regular season for the public starts the following weekend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Mark your calendars for Friday, because Mt. Bachelor announced Monday morning that the 2024/25 season will start two weeks earlier than planned, thanks to abundant early-season snowfall. first opening since 1998.

With over 40+ inches of snowfall in the early season and more in the forecast, the resort is inviting Mount Bachelor pass holders only to enjoy the first turns on the Skyliner and Little Pine lifts this weekend, November 15-17. Nordic Pass holders will also get exclusive access to cross-country ski trails from November 15 to 17.

All weekend long, pass holders will receive discounts on shopping, food and drinks and more. Early season conditions will be in effect this weekend. Pass holders are asked to ski and ride with caution and stay on marked and open trails.

Mt. Bachelor closes on Monday, November 18 and reopens to the public the following weekend, November 22-24, with $50 lift tickets. The resort will then begin daily operations on November 29. More information about the specific opening weekend lift and site access will be provided later this week.

“I couldn’t be more excited to kick off the season with our passholders on Friday,” said John Merriman, President & General Manager. “We’re thrilled to be opening earlier than expected, and to give our pass holders a weekend to celebrate together. I’d like to thank our teams for making this possible, it was a big step and I’m so proud of everyone – we’re ready to make this the best season yet.”

To allow for routine pre-season maintenance work, the resort is closed to the public on the following dates, including all uphill travel:

  • Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 November
  • Monday 18 to Thursday 21 November
  • Monday 25 to Thursday 28 November

The resort is open daily during the season beginning Friday, November 29. The Uphill Travel Policy, which requires skiers and riders to purchase a free Uphill Pass, goes into effect this Friday.
