Interpreter

When it comes to the NBA Cup, all you need to know are these two terms: group play and knockout rounds.

Group game: All 30 teams were drawn at random in groups of five within their conference based on won-loss records from the 2023-2024 regular season. Each team plays four designated Group Play matches: one match against each opponent in its group, with two at home and two on the road.

Knockout rounds: Eight teams advance to this stage: the six teams with the best record from their Group Play matches and two “wild cards” (the team from each conference with the best result in Group Play matches but finished second in its group ). This phase is single elimination: Quarter-finals > Semi-finals > Championship.
