John Krasinski is People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. The magazine announced the actor-writer-director as its pick Tuesday night during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This comes after the internet was hit with some confusion over Benny Blanco being crowned the winner this year. The Sexiest Man Alive 2024

Krasinski starred in The Office before launching the Quiet Place franchise and helming the action series Jack Ryan. He joked in an interview with the magazine that he hopes his wife, fellow actor Emily Blunt, makes good on her promise to plaster the cover like wallpaper in their home. He takes over the mantle from last year’s winner, Patrick Dempsey.

Krasinski, 45, told People that his immediate reaction to the honor was “basically just an instant blackout. No thoughts.” He added that he thought he might be being fooled.

Confusion about Benny Blanco

Previously, a clipping from the magazine showed a photo of Benny Blanco in his home and the words ‘Sexiest Man Alive Issue’ written next to him. This led many to speculate that he might take the coveted title this year. The news shocked many on the internet.

Meanwhile, official winner Krasisnki rose to fame playing the flabby, lanky Jim in the American version of the mockumentary The Office and turned into the toned, muscular action star in Amazon’s Jack Ryan, playing the Tom Clancy character previously played by Alec was played. Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck on the big screen.

He also wrote, directed and co-starred in A Quiet Place, which has grown into a three-film franchise, and created the short-lived but wildly popular pandemic-era web series Some Good News.

The couple have two daughters together.

Krasinski told People in the issue, which hits newsstands Friday, that the honor will likely lead to more than just jokes at home.

“I think that will make me do more house chores,” he joked.

Now in its 40th year, Mel Gibson was the first Sexiest Man Alive. Other previous recipients include Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John F Kennedy Jr, David Beckham, Michael B Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Rudd and Pierce Brosnan.
