Rain today, then nice from Thursday to Sunday

Periods of rain will remain on and off throughout the afternoon and then end around noon Thursday with totals ranging from less than .05″ near the Minnesota-Wisconsin border to .25″ across most of the western metro and .50″ to 1″ areas along a line from St. Cloud to Mankato to Fairmont and points west.

Rain is already falling about 80 miles west of the Twin Cities this morning and will remain west of the Twin Cities through Wednesday morning rush hour. It will move into the Twin Cities — mainly the western metro — after 10 a.m. Periods of rain will continue through the afternoon and end around noon Thursday, with totals ranging from less than 0.05″ near the Minnesota-Wisconsin border to . 25″ in most of the western metro and .50″ to 1″ areas along a line from St. Cloud to Mankato to Fairmont and points west.

Highs today will be in the mid 40s with southeast winds of 5 to 15 mph, then areas of fog will develop overnight with lows in the low 40s.

Thursday morning locally fog and clouds, otherwise a mix of clouds and sun in the afternoon with highs around 50 degrees and a northerly wind of 5-10 km/hour. Clear skies with patchy fog Thursday night and a full moon Friday morning with light winds and lows in the mid 30s.

Mostly sunny and pleasant Friday with highs in the mid 50s, then sunny and breezy on Saturday with highs in the mid 50s. Partly cloudy on Sunday with a few hail showers possible in the morning, otherwise staying partly cloudy to sunny with highs in the afternoon around 50 degrees and occasionally windy in the afternoon.

Next week will start sunny with highs in the low 50s on Monday, then cloudy on Tuesday with rain developing and highs in the low 50s. JONATHAN YUHAS
