The New England Patriots don’t face the Colts until Week 13, but they may have an idea who their starter will be.

Indianapolis surprisingly sat Anthony Richardson in Week 9 for Joe Flacco. Shane Steichen hoped the second-year quarterback could learn from the veteran. However, after two consecutive losses, the head coach announced that Richardson would start this Sunday and remain the starter for the rest of the season.

Steichen was unsure about who his starting quarterback would be for more than a month, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if he changed again. Richardson also suffered hip and oblique injuries after the first three games of the season. The Florida product also played a role in Week 8 after admitting he was “tired” following a play that involved scrambling through the pocket. It’s certainly possible he misses another game, as he did during the New England game in Germany last season.

As things stand in Week 11, it appears to be a matchup between Drake Maye and Richardson. But the Colts’ season could continue when they arrive at Gillette Stadium in Week 13.
