If you were an international megacorp that had just come into the light and was dripping blood from head to toe after a wave of layoffs that saw more than 2,500 people lose their livelihoods following a $69 billion takeover, what would be your first step?

In a recent conversation with Bloomberg, Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer became optimistic about Xbox’s health, stating that “the Xbox business has never been healthier” even as it transitions from a plain-Jane console maker to a multiplatform developer giant. “The company is performing well right now, and I think this means a healthier future for the hardware and the games we build,” said Spencer.
