“It’s going to be bigger than most weddings,” said 61-year-old Chock We weekly from the party in the couple’s first exclusive interview. “We have friends coming from all over the country, and it’s kind of our coming out party as a couple. We are extremely enthusiastic about that.”

“This first year we of course have to discover life a bit. Chock has a company in Kansas. I have children and grandchildren and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have commitments in Kansas,” Joan says Us. “We know we’re going to spend time in Maryland and Kansas, but then we have a really fun plan because we’ve both always dreamed — and we’re finally in this strange stage of life where we’re living this dream — that we’ll be in a big city live, and above all: we have always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, “I want us to find a place.”

Disney/Ricky Middlesworth Golden Bachelorette Season 1 contestant Chock Chapple captured viewers’ hearts from the moment he stepped out of the limo. “60 years old, I have been able to do so much. I have been loved, I have traveled, had children, had some success in business and other things,” Chock said during the premiere episode in September (…)

The pair agree that this is the perfect adventure for their first year as a couple.

“We both love the energy of the city and love that there is always something to do,” Joan continued. “We just want to go out and walk and experience life – go to nice restaurants and experience the culture. We both have friends there. We’ll be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City. I think it’s just a very different life than we’ve ever lived.”

Joan added that Chock’s two children — Taylor25, and Tyler23, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Heather – also live on the east coast.

“That might make the decision a little easier. And I don’t think I ever thought I’d say this, but I’m looking forward to (also) spending time in Kansas!” she explained. “He has a great life there and he has great friends, and I’m excited to just hang out with them. He’s out every night of the week, and I can hear the noise in the background of all his friends, you know, having a good time. So I’m excited to go to Kansas.

Chock noted that he would “never” ask Joan to be too far from her family in Maryland. She has four children – Nick34, Erica33, Allison30, and Lucas28 – which she shared with her late husband John as well as three grandchildren.

“We’re going to navigate through it. We are willing to spend time in each person’s hometown. We’re going to spend a lot of time in New York City,” he said. “We move on with our lives.”
