When Tulsi Gabbard Clarified Her Nationality: 'I'm Not of Indian Ancestry'
Tulsi Gabbard was born in Samoa and raised in Hawaii and the Philippines.

US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has been appointed Director of National Intelligence in Donald Trump’s new cabinet for a four-term term. The 43-year-old veteran was the first Hindu in the US Congress and was often mistaken for Indian descent because of her religion. But Tulsi was born in the US territory of American Samoa and grew up in Hawaii and the Philippines. Tulsi Gabbard’s mother, Carol Porter Gabbard, grew up in a multicultural household and became interested in Hinduism. All her children have Hindu names: Bhakti, Jai, Aryan, Tulsi and Vrindavan. Tulsi also follows Hinduism.
Videos of Tulsi chanting Hare Krishna are going viral after she became the first Hindu to head US spy agencies.
Because her religion made many people think that she is of Indian descent, she herself made it clear in 2012 that she had no Indian connection. “I am not of Indian descent,” Tulsi posted in response to a post identifying himself as Indian-American.

When Hillary Clinton Called Tulsi Gabbard a Russian Agent

Tulsi Gabbard was a member of the Democratic party for most of her political career. In 2022, she announced her departure from the party, saying the party was under the “complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers, driven by cowardly wokeness.” Gabbard endorsed Donald Trump just a few months before the election, pushing her anti-war stance under a Republican administration.
In 2019, when Tulsi Gabbard was running for president in the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton called her a Russian spy without mentioning her name. “I’m not making predictions, but I think they’re targeting someone who is currently in the Democratic primary and grooming her to be the third party candidate,” Clinton said, calling Gabbard the Russians’ favorite.
“Thank you @HillaryClinton. You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain,” Gabbard responded to Clinton’s allegations.
“From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation,” she added. “We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know – it was always you, through your proxies and powerful allies in the corporate media and the war machine, who feared the threat I pose.
Tulsi Gabbard was recently placed on a terrorist watch list by the Biden-Harris administration.
