Trump ally Alina Habba denies rumors about the role of press secretary

President-elect Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Alina Habba, made it clear early Thursday that she is not in the running to become his next White House press secretary.

“While I am flattered by the support and speculation, the role of press secretary is not one I am considering,” Habba, 40, said on X of the post she was widely expected to get.

“While I love shouting from a stage, I would be better served in other capacities,” she joked.

“This administration is going to be epic! So proud of the Trump team, the newest appointments and 47!”

It comes just days after Habba said she would consider the opportunity “very seriously” after being asked repeatedly during a Fox News appearance about recent reports that she was a frontrunner for the role.

“I leave it up to the president and the three people who are on my board of directors: Luke, Chloe and Parker, my children. Everyone will know in time,” the lawyer told host Sean Hannity.

She declined to explain whether she had had conversations with the Trump-Vance transition team about her role in the new administration.

“They are killing it on all fronts… It’s time to make the case for ‘America First,’ and whatever that looks like for President Trump and his team, I trust it. It’s a decision they all have to make. I don’t,” Habba told the outlet.

Habba, who founded the New Jersey-based law firm Habba Madaio & Associates, joined Trump’s legal team in 2021.

Habba, 40, was asked several times by Fox News host Sean Hannity about a report suggesting she is “the favorite” for the role and did not rule out the possibility of serving in the new administration.

She has represented the 45th president in several of his high-profile lawsuits, including E. Jean Carroll’s defamation case and New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil fraud case.

Trump has not yet revealed who will take on the role of press secretary.

Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Stephanie Grisham and Kayleigh McEnany filled the role during Trump’s first stint in the White House.
