Cameron Diaz is “Back In Action” after a decade-long hiatus from Hollywood.

The star of ‘Back In Action’, which hits Netflix on January 17, will return to her film after a decade.

The film reunites Diaz with former co-star Jamie Foxx in her first film role since they starred together in the modernized version of 2014’s “Annie,” in which she played Miss Hannigan.

Diaz and Foxx play a pair of ex-CIA agents who ditch their careers for married life with children in the film’s first teaser trailer released Thursday. But just like in Diaz’s real life, the duo returns to their old jobs as intelligence agents.

During an appearance on the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast released in December 2023, Diaz addressed rumors that she and Foxx had a falling out during production of the action comedy.

“Jamie is the best. I love that man so much,” Diaz said. “He’s such a special person, and he’s so talented, so fun. I really hate all the things that are said about our set, when at that moment you just want to scream at the top of your lungs like, ‘Guys! Where did you it about?

In an interview with CBS host Dana Jacobson released in July 2022, Diaz explained why she left the industry for eight years and now feels ready to step back into the spotlight.

“If you’re doing something that you know, and you’ve done it well, and you know how it works and it’s lasted all your life, then it’s kind of nice to say, ‘You know what?’ Let me take a step back and see what the whole picture looks like for me and what are the things I could do better and be more involved with that would make me feel more complete.” And I did that,” Diaz said.

She continued, “I miss aspects of acting or filmmaking. … Filmmaking is a special skill that is fun to practice and be a part of.”

In 2022, Diaz spoke with “RuPaul’s Drag Race” judge Michelle Visage on the “Rule Breakers” podcast and opened up about the mental health struggles that came with her career and fame.

“Fame is very infantilizing. It’s mainly about keeping someone coddled in a state of: we see a little child and think, ‘It’s so cute, I want it to stay cute forever, and if I keep it cute by always treatable cute, maybe it will stay cute forever.’ And that’s how people treat you.”
