Shakur Stevenson is not interested in the Terence Crawford vs. Jaron Ennis fight

Shakur Stevenson has described the highly anticipated slugfest between Terence “Bud” Crawford and Jaron “Boots” Ennis as the fight he doesn’t want to see happen.

Crawford, 37, has yet to announce his next opponent after capturing the WBA junior middleweight title from Israil Madrimov in August. Crawford, from Omaha, Nebraska, could return next year and continues to be drafted by nemesis Ennis, who is weighing his options to move up to 154 pounds.

But Stevenson believes the fight should not happen.

“I mean, I never want to see the fight,” Stevenson told iFV TV. “I think these are just two different eras, two different times. I know they’re here at the same time, but I think Bud is at the end.

“He probably has one or two more fights left in him, and it’s not one of the fights I want to see. I would rather see him fight ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.”

Crawford, a two-time undisputed champion, continues to summon super middleweight superstar Alvarez in what could be the final bell of his glittering career.

While Alvarez has not yet agreed to Crawford’s challenge, Stevenson believes a matchup between the two would produce an outcome that many believe is beyond Crawford’s reach.

“I think Bud will beat Canelo and shock the world again,” he said. “That’s something I know could happen, so everyone has to wait and see.”
