2024 was a good year for Deadpool and Wolverine. The two had a major hit movie and a number of successful comic book series and miniseries. In 2025, the duo will once again team up with Cable and some other X-Men to defeat Doctor Doom as Weapon X-Men.

The new series, which stems from the One World Under Doom event, will see the team become a deadly answer to deadly questions. In addition to the power trio Wolverine, Deadpool and Cable, the team will also include Chamber and Thunderbird. If there’s an enemy stronghold that needs to be taken, Weapon X-Men will get the job done. Naturally, their first mission takes them to Latveria in an attempt to rescue captured Mutants. It will undoubtedly be a trial by fire for the new team.

The Weapon X-Men creative team outlined

The new series is the brainchild of writer Joe Casey. Weapon X-Men, beloved for its runs on X-Men and Cable, marks Casey’s return to the franchise. He will be teaming up with Chris Cross, who will provide the art for the new ongoing X-Title.

“When I pitched this series over a year ago, I knew it was going to be big,” Casey said. “But writing a brand new, premier superteam of top mutants, as they take on some of the most iconic villains in the modern Marvel Universe, has proven to be even more fun than I could have imagined.
