Snow showers, first fall frost possible next week in Middle Tennessee

Our warm days may be numbered as models hint at a major pattern shift late next week.

The timing is subject to change, but Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan says it currently looks like this big swing will happen on Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22.

This has the potential to give the Midstate the coldest air of the season and bring the first fall frost for many areas.

The coldest temperature in Nashville so far this fall is 37 degrees, recorded on October 17.

These types of systems are known to also produce light gusts.

Uncertainty remains quite high at the moment as to whether we will see flurries associated with this system, but there is a little more confidence that we will see a major cooldown late next week.

The time of arrival of cold air and the chance of precipitation may change.

FOX 17 News will continue to monitor the cooler air and bring you updates as they occur.
