Influencer Molly-Mae Haag has spoken of her “shock” at her recent split from her fiancé, professional boxer Tommy Fury.

She said she had been counting down the days until their wedding in September next year, adding that her desire to marry Fury “would never have changed”.

They met in 2019 on ITV’s Love Island dating show and got engaged in 2023. They share daughter Bambi, who was born early last year.

She announced their split in Augustin separate social media posts, and this is the first interview The Hague has given since.

They were both 25 years old and perhaps the most high-profile couple to emerge from Love Island.

Requested from British Vogue If the breakup was sudden, she replied, “Yes.” I mean. It was a bit of a shock.”

She said she “didn’t want what happened”, adding that she “100% wanted to marry Tommy, and that would never have changed”.

“I wanted to get married next September and it’s very difficult when it’s taken away a little bit. But I will always have a lot of love and respect for him,” she added.

The couple surprised their legions of fans when they announced their split.

“I am extremely upset to announce that my and Tommy’s relationship has ended,” Den Haag told her 7.9 million Instagram followers.

“After five years together, I never thought our story would end, especially this way,” she wrote.

In his own statement, Fury said he was “heartbroken” and asked fans for privacy. He also thanked The Hague for “making me a father,” adding, “Bambi is our priority.”

The Hague said people at the time said “it’s Princess Diana and Charles,” in a reference to the divorce of the current King Charles III and the late Princess of Wales.

But the impact on her was also clear.

“(I) had a few days,” she said, “where I was like, ‘I don’t really know how I’m going to get through this.’”

‘No one will ever know’

In October, Fury gave his side of the story in an interview with the Daily Mailin which he denied the deception against The Hague.

“All accusations made against me recently are completely false,” he stressed.

He also expressed the hope of reconciling with The Hague and called her “the woman of my dreams”.

For her part, Hague said: “Apart from Tommy and I, no one will ever really know what happened, and we’d like to keep it that way, for Bambi’s sake”.

But she hinted that we may hear more from her ex in due course, saying: “I do think he will eventually talk about things. I do think that when he’s ready, maybe more will be said. But I think he should do it on his terms.”

She added: “It’s not like it’s gossip, it’s real life and it’s, you know, a very deep situation. It’s really sad.”

In the interview, Den Haag also confirmed that she will star in a new three-hour documentary series for Prime Video, which will air in early 2025.

It is produced by the team behind Netflix’s At Home with the Furys and is expected to give viewers access to all parts of her life.

“So far so good. I haven’t been going crazy with the cameras in my house all the time,” Haag told the magazine.

She added that co-parenting was going really well, saying the pair were both “very mature about it,” and talked about how much she’s enjoying motherhood now that Bambi is a toddler.

“I absolutely love it,” she said. “If I could have a million more babies at this stage, I would.”
