Both athletes talked big game in the build-up to the bout, which ended with Paul defeating the former world heavyweight champion by unanimous decision after eight rounds on the night of November 15.

Earlier this week, Tyson told reporters, including ESPN, that he was “bringing the devil himself (to the ring).”

“There’s no feelings involved,” Tyson, who called Paul a “friend,” said on Nov. 12. ‘My own mother has to be very careful when she has to go into the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, otherwise he is in trouble.”

Tensions between the two men rose after Tyson punched Paul during the weigh-in on November 14.

Footage from the weigh-in showed Paul approaching Tyson and stepping on his foot. In retaliation, Tyson punched the YouTube star in the face and pointed at their feet before security got between them.

“Jake stepped on Mike’s foot and that caused the reaction,” Tom Patti, a longtime friend of Tyson’s, told USA TODAY Sports. “I was there and Mike just told me.”

“This is a pinch-me moment,” Paul later posted on X. “I got punched by Mike Tyson 🤗.”

Following his victory on November 15, the YouTuber shared a number of posts on X celebrating the win.

“Thankful to God, my family and my friends. We did it,” he wrote in one, while saying in another: “Thank you to every fighter on the card last night, thank you Netflix, thank you Jerry Jones, thank you thank you to my MVP team, I want to thank the legend Mike Tyson for giving me the opportunity to share the ring with him, I want to thank my family and my close circle of friends… and most of all, thank you God.”
