LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Henderson police and firefighters responded to an incident at the Galleria Mall on Sunset Road on Saturday.

Police were initially alerted to a possible shooting around noon.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident began when a loss prevention officer attempted to apprehend an individual suspected of theft.

A fight broke out and the suspect fled, according to HPD.

The suspect was later arrested at a nearby business.

Both the suspect and the loss prevention officer were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

The male suspect is currently in custody.

Officials confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community and the mall has resumed normal operations.
