Embassy

Ambessa continues to pull the strings from the shadows after making Caitlyn commander at the end of the first act. She senses that the Black Rose is behind the disappearance of her daughter Mel and Piltover scientists Jayce and Heimerdinger, which prevents her from using the Hextech. She uses Rictus and the Noxian army to ambush a meeting in Zaun, capturing many Zaunities including Singed.

Singed piqued Ambessa’s interest and they began working together after making a deal where she wanted to take control of the bloodhound Warwick and make him a valued advisor in return. She asked Singed to lead her to the beast, and he did so by leading her to Viktor’s camp using his invention. Ambessa also taught Caitlyn melee combat, which she used to take down Vi later in the act.

After finding Viktor’s place among his followers in the Undercity, Ambessa sets up camp to attack Viktor and take the beast. She got her hands on Vi, but belatedly realized that Caitlyn had framed her. After Warwick is released in the final episode, he beats her witness Rictus to death and uses her army to take down all the other characters in the camp.

Caitlyn

After her fight with Vi, Caitlyn finds a new partner in Maddie, and she continues to navigate Piltover. She is recovering from her mother’s death, which has also led to her regaining her logic over overwhelming emotions. While Ambessa pushes her to end Zaunite resistance, she still doesn’t think violence is the answer to peace between the two places.

After Warwick kills many Enforcers on the way to prison, Caitlyn visits the prison cell with Ambessa to confront Singed. After talking to him, she realizes that Singed was the one removed from Piltover’s scientific council, and she becomes angry at him for inventing Shimmer, which has ruined the lives of many people in Zaun. Caitlyn catches Vi near Viktor’s camp and devises a plan with her to save Warwick and betray Ambessa to protect her people.

Jayce

After his strange encounter with the underground gem mesh in act one, Jayce has aged considerably and is now guided by the voices in his head. He also sees Salo walking and talks to Viktor through him, but he is convinced that Hextech must be destroyed. Jayce walks up to Salo and hammers him down to kill him while using Viktor’s Hextech energy to walk. That’s not even the most shocking thing he did in this act.

Later, he visits Viktor’s camp in the Undercity and almost kills a child in his way with his weapon, but he stops himself. The boy, out of the goodness of his heart, accompanies Jayce to the Herald, another name for Viktor. After entering Viktor’s camp, Jayce notices Viktor flying upwards, and shoots him.

Heimerdinger and Ekko mysteriously do not appear in the second act either, but may play an important role in the final act.

Cursed

Jinx has been relatively less chaotic after spending her time with Isha. After being rescued by Vi during her last encounter with Caitlyn, she has distanced herself from her former self. That is until Sevika comes up to her and tells her how she became an icon in Zaun. People are forming resistance and they need her to show up. She does show up to save the Zaunites after they are captured by the Enforcers, but comes face to face with Warwick and realizes he is Vander.

She approaches Vi, and they both appear to meet each other. Warwick looks for a solution to return him to Vander. They take him to Viktor, but he cannot immediately fix him, because he is more difficult to heal than others. As she gets closer to Vi, their relationship becomes stronger than ever. In the cliffhanger ending scene of act two, Isha grabs her gun and takes the Hextech gems from her and Vi’s weapons to cause a massive explosion.

If Isha were to sacrifice her life here, it would be interesting to see the impact on Jinx’s mind as she grew closer to her while sticking together and treating her almost like a little sister.

Vi

Vi did not accept the breakup with Caitlyn and has gone completely gothic in her fashion style, fighting in the pits of the undercity to live out her days. One day Jinx shows up at her house and informs her that Vander is still alive. The sisters work together to find a cure to fix Warwick and turn him back into the man they know. However, she tries to follow Singed back to Ambessa’s camp and is tackled to the ground by Caitlyn.

They later devise a plan to trick Ambessa into not untying Vi and presenting her to Ambessa as bait. Vi hits Ambessa at the right moment to put her down and escapes from her camp to run back to Viktor. By the end of the second act, Vi has clearly come to terms with her current self and feels complete with her family until the explosion caused by Isha.

Victor

Viktor said goodbye to Jayce and began healing the Shimmer addicts in the undercity, and his following has reached new heights as a peaceful society surrounded his home. They call him the Herald, because he cured the ailments of many people, including Sal of the Council, who lost his ability to walk after the first season. He meets Warwick and already understands that his vision to unite the Zaun is a good reason to return him to Vander.

As Warwick slowly healed, he was reminded by Singed that human nature is beyond repair, and he said the words League fans were waiting for: “Glorious Evolution.” Afterwards, Jayce killed him in the Undercity to stop the use of Hextech, but he may not have been dead because he was still talking in the afterlife, understanding the real meaning behind humanity’s greatest asset and flaw. The final act could also bring him back to life in the mechanical form that League players know and love, but Riot could take its story in a very different direction.

Sung

If you missed Singed due to lack of screen time in the first act, the second act not only sates your hunger but also gives you the reason for its disappearance: Warwick. More about the bloodhound after this, but Singed showed up at Vander’s statue during the meeting and he had a small piece of shrapnel that cut his hand. Even though he was captured and transported to Piltover Prison, he continued to shed his blood, leading a trail for Warwick to follow and kill the Piltover Enforcers around him.

He began working with Ambessa and Caitlyn to gain them access to Warwick, and he also revealed the purpose of the experiments, which was to bring his daughter back to life from the dead.

Warwick

The theories have indeed come true and now it is confirmed that Vander Warwick is in Arcane. The blood-hungry dog walks through the streets of Zaun, following the scent of blood. Warwick looks a little different than his in-game photo, but that’s because he still has Vander in him. He also hugs Vi and Cait as he finally realizes that they are his daughters through regained lost memories. Hoping to find a cure, Warwick heads to Viktor’s camp with Jinx and Vi.

As Jayce punches a hole through Viktor’s chest and Isha shoots the overloaded Hextech weapon, causing an explosion, Warwick’s future in the series is in question.

Honorable Mentions: Orianna and LeBlanc

While Singed worked with Ambessa and Caitlyn, he also showed them that the reason behind his work was to find a way to bring his daughter back to life. Ambessa also found his pocket watch while in prison, which showed his daughter’s face. They also named him Reveck, which according to tradition confirms his connection to Orianna as a father.

Once Singed leads them to the room with his daughter, we can see a statue of Ballerina on the side, an Easter egg, showing what Orianna will become in the future, making her the Lady of Clockwork. According to lore, Orianna’s body is replaced with metal and her father, Corin Reveck, makes her the ball, her weapon in the game.

The Black Rose continues to wreak havoc and they capture Mel to find the artifact. As Mel talks to the person next to her, she realizes that the person is her brother Kino. However, she understands that there is a puzzle she must solve to escape prison, and then she realizes that LeBlanc was looking for him and that Ambessa had a daughter with a soldier in her past life. Mel uses the mysterious golden artifact on her back, which previously survived Jinx’s missile, to break free from the Black Rose’s chains.

It’s clear that the Black Rose wants that Artifact or something like that from Mel and now that they know it’s her, the final act could see LeBlanc making her final move to set up the future of the stories that will follow from Runeterra come. Arcane.

The first and second acts of Arcanes The second and final season is currently streaming on Netflix. The last act of Arcane falls on November 23.
