Nick Diaz gone (again), Themba Gorimbo (aka The Rock’s favorite fighter) steps in at short notice | UFC310

Not again!

Late last night (November 15, 2024), sources told MMMAMania.com that the fan favorite Nick Diaz is out of his scheduled fight at UFC 310, which will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 7, 2024. Rising welterweight prospect Themba Gorimbo will step in to replace Diaz and fight Vicente Luque.

This marks the second time in 2024 that Diaz has withdrawn from a fight – the first was at UFC Abu Dhabi. Diaz pulled out of the fight due to travel issues, which made sense since the 41-year-old and the Middle East probably never would have happened.

No reason was given for Diaz’s withdrawal; However, last weekend a disturbing video surfaced of a shirtless Diaz setting grass on fire.

Luque, 32, has not competed since Joaquin Buckley knocked him down in the co-main event of UFC Atlantic City (watch highlights). “The Silent Assassin” has lost three of his last five fights, two via finishes, and now he has seen his dream fight with Diaz canceled twice.

The man replacing Diaz, Gorimbo (14-4), has been very active in 2024, fighting three times and making headlines last year when The Rock gave him a house.

After Gorimbo’s last appearance against Niko Price on October 12, he said he would happily fight Luque when Diaz withdrew… and his wish came true.
