The best Charli XCX live skits on Saturday nights

Charli XCX made her hosting debut on Saturday evening live on November 16, ten years after she first performed as musical guest in 2014. After her summer of success with the extremely popular album Bratthe pop star was asked to play a dual role in last night’s episode, both as a host and as an appearance. In addition to some hilarious skits, Charli performed her hits “360” and “Sympathy Is a Knife.”

Fans will note that actress and model Julia Fox makes a brief appearance to introduce the singer, who included Fox’s name in her lyrics.

Highlights of her sketches on Saturday include a follow-up to the bridesmaid sketch that Ariana Grande first introduced a few weeks ago, this time with the group of girls singing the story of their ‘one last girls trip’ on the set of Chappell Roan’s ‘ HOT TO GO! ”

Former cast member Andy Samberg also returned and appeared in a SNL digital short film called ‘Here I Go’, about suburbanites reporting people to the police.

“Please, I’ll report you to the police, and I’ll report you anonymously!” sang Samberg. “I’m going to sleep like a baby tonight!”

Another fun short film gave viewers a glimpse at some never-before-seen screen tests for the new one Bad film adaptation of the Broadway musical, in which Charli XCX was played by cast member Bowen Yang, while the star himself played boyfriend Troye Sivan. The rest of the cast got to show off their best impersonations when auditioning for the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, with Charli XCX returning to do her best Adele. Spoiler: not many of them could make it to the last note in ‘Defying Gravity’.

Charli got to expand her skills even further in a skit about an acting teacher, who plays the struggling student.

And then things got heated during a Thanksgiving baking contest.
