Lions captain escorted to dressing room with forearm injury

Detroit — Lions captain and linebacker Alex Anzalone was escorted to the locker room during the second quarter of the Detroit Lions’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field on Sunday.

The Lions officially demoted Anzalone until early in the third quarter.

Anzalone helped Brian Branch make a tackle on Jaguars running back Travis Etienne near the sideline and remained on the field after the play holding his left forearm.

Detroit has suffered multiple injuries this season to key players on the defensive side of the ball, including star defense Aidan Hutchinson, starting defensive back Marcus Davenport and starting linebacker Derrick Barnes. Reserve linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin was recently placed on injured reserve.
