Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins suffered an apparent injury late in the first quarter of the Week 11 NFL game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football at SoFi Stadium.

Higgins took a hard shot to the back from the Chargers’ Denzel Perryman after an eight-yard catch from quarterback Joe Burrow on fourth down. He lost the football, but he was expelled.

Higgins was helped off the field by the training staff. He went to the blue medical tent for examination and the medical staff applied lotion to his lower back.

Higgins returned to the game early in the second quarter. He had a 42-yard touchdown catch from Burrow on fourth down during the third quarter.

Higgins did not play in the Bengals’ games against the Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders and Philadelphia Eagles due to a quad injury.

Higgins has 29 receptions for 341 receiving yards with three touchdowns through the five games he has played in this season.

Higgins is in his fifth season with the Bengals. He missed the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury.

Higgins returned to training on September 19 for the first time since sustaining the injury during practice on September 5.

Higgins had 42 catches for 656 yards with five touchdowns in 12 games last season.
