The Black Stars of Ghana will face Niger in their final match of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024.

The result of the match will not affect Ghana’s fate in the qualifiers as the country has already failed to make it to the tournament.

Niger, which is third in the group with four points, could qualify for the tournament if the country manages to win against the Black Stars and Sudan loses its last match against Angola.

Ghana have been dealt a major blow after key players such as Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu and Fatawu Issahaku withdrew from the squad due to injury following the 1-1 draw against Angola.

Ghana now find themselves bottom of Group F, with just 3 points from 5 matches, including two losses and three draws.

Angola, which has already qualified, leads the group with 13 points, while Sudan and Niger follow with 7 and 4 points respectively.

This is the first time in 21 years that the Black Stars have failed to qualify for the prestigious tournament.
