Monday started the day chilly as temperatures will remain below average all day, making it the coldest day of the week.

With the early morning freeze advisory set to expire, an afternoon wind advisory will go into effect for all areas north and west of Los Angeles, including the Santa Clarita, San Fernando and Antelope valleys, and parts of northern Ventura County. From Monday 3 p.m. to Tuesday 3 a.m., wind gusts can reach 55 to 70 km/h.

Monday will be the coolest day of the week as temperatures gradually rise and move out of the average range.

“We’re starting off very cold this week for the Inland Empire, and it’s going to be 14 degrees warmer between now and Friday,” KCAL News meteorologist Paul Deanno said.

Highs in downtown Los Angeles will reach 64 degrees on Monday, while highs in most other areas will be about the same.

Later in the week, temperatures will rise and reach warmer than average values.

A storm is already moving into Northern California on Tuesday and is expected to move south this weekend. There is a small chance of rain on Friday evening and a 30% chance of rain on Saturday night and Sunday.
