Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson celebrate Danny DeVito’s 80th birthday

Danny DeVito turns 80!

On Sunday, November 17, DeVito’s It’s always sunny in Philadelphia costars Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson celebrated the actor’s milestone birthday with touching tributes shared to their social media accounts.

Alongside a photo of DeVito pointing at the camera, McElhenney wrote a sweet message in honor of the industry vet’s special day.

“This man was born 80 years ago today,” he wrote in a tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter). ‘He can still drink you under the table. He can still make you laugh harder than anyone you’ve ever met. He can still make you feel like you’re the only person in the room.”

“He can still give you the best advice you’ve ever received and make you feel loved no matter what. He is an American treasure,” McElhenney continued, adding, “There is only one (Danny DeVito).”

On Instagram, Olson also paid tribute to the Emmy winner with an adorable photo of the two sitting in a kitchen in holiday attire. The duo was shown nibbling on some food for a photoshoot.

“Congratulations on my favorite (rum) ham,” she captioned the post. “Danny DeVito is everything you want him to be. Lights up every room, makes sure everyone is taken care of, gives his whole heart to everyone and everything he loves. Here’s to another 80. I wouldn’t put it up to him to pass up.”

DeVito has played a leading role It’s always sunny in Philadelphia alongside McElhenney, Olson, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day since 2005 for more than 16 seasons. He recently spoke with PEOPLE in October about the FXX comedy’s upcoming crossover episode with the ABC hit Abbott Elementary.
