Dutch Bros will accelerate the openings in 2025

Dutch Bros. Inc. reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings and sales, thanks in part to its new mobile ordering system and continued store growth.

The drive-thru coffee chain opened 38 new stores (33 of which were company-operated) in 11 states during the quarter, for a total of 950 locations in 18 states. The company said it is making “major” investments in its development and construction team. It has also increased the use of data analytics for site selection.

During the earnings call, Dutch Bros said it expects to accelerate store openings to at least 160 stores in 2025 and further accelerate openings in 2026. The company has said it plans to operate more than 4,000 stores over the next 10 to 15 years.

“Our 2025 pipeline is strong and positions us to accelerate new store growth,” said Christine Barone, CEO and president of Dutch Bros. “We believe our refined real estate strategy is working as we see strong new store productivity as we have shifted our development focus and increased our site selection process.”

During the earnings call, Barone said Dutch Bros began a limited food test in six stores in the third quarter, including expanded bakery offerings and sweet and savory hot dishes.
